VIEW CAMP PHOTO

CAMP LOCATION: Camp Cherith resides about 15 minutes from Detroit Lakes, MN on 280 stunning acres of lakes, woodlands, and rolling hills. Our activities promote interaction with nature, so Cherith campers spend a lot of time outdoors surrounded by the splendor of God's creation. Beautiful Lake Six provides a clean and safe environment for our waterfront activities, and Schram's Lake offers a majestic backdrop for morning devotions, outdoor chapel services, canoeing, and hanging out with friends. Our horsemanship program makes use of miles of wooded trails and our many scenic campfire sites make outdoor cookouts one of the week's highlights.

CAMP FACILITIES: Camp Cherith has a variety of cabins including both stand-alone and dormitory types. In addition, we have a recreation/dining hall, outdoor basketball courts, beautiful chapel area, many wooded paths, and a pristine lake for swimming.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Camp Cherith's Christ-centered community creates an environment where many life-long friendships have gotten their start. Campers learn about God in an interdenominational setting through daily Bible exploration, dynamic campfire messages, and cabin devotions. And everyone participates in Morning Watch, a quiet time spent alone with God reading His Word and praying. All campers experience the thrill of success through skill-building classes. Each camper chooses two activities for the week, which they participate in daily. Our goal is to help each camper either learn a new skill or improve an existing one.

Camp Cherith's multi-age format allows same-gender siblings to attend camp together. (Parents can also come to camp as valued volunteers.) Campers are placed in divisions based on grade level and are assigned to cabins within their division. They spend about half of each day with this group, but campers of different ages do interact during meal times, free time, and various camp activities. Our younger campers look up to the bigger kids and as a result bring out a kind, nurturing spirit in the older boys and girls.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Camp Cherith’s own staff development programs – CILT for girls and BUILT for boys – are two-year programs for campers who’ve completed tenth grade and want to develop leadership skills with an emphasis on spiritual growth. It is an intensive commitment, including the planning and implementation of various camp activities, reading and teaching assignments, and finally a week of actual counseling experience on site. It gives participants the tools necessary to serve as an effective staff member at any of the nation’s Camp Cherith locations.

CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Partial Scholarships available - No one is turned away due to financial need.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Camp Lincoln and Camp Lake Hubert have a 100-year plus history of creating fun and adventure in Minnesota’s lake country. As brother-sister camps, they are located across the lake from each other, with separate facilities and activities, but under the same ownership and long-standing mission and purpose. Alumni from all across the USA and around the world talk with pride about their wonderful memories and the great times at Camp Lincoln and Camp Lake Hubert.

But camp is more than fun. It is about meeting new friends, expanding ones interests, learning new skills, and developing important life skills. We are confident that you will discover more about yourself in the process.

Our commitment to five Core Values helps create an environment that is caring, nurturing and positive. With more than 30 land and water activities, plus special adventure trips, you will have plenty of opportunity to develop new interests and skills, and to explore nature’s wonderland.

You will learn some amazing things. And you will find out that you are pretty amazing, too! We hope that you will join us in this adventure.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: The Camp Lincoln and Camp Lake Hubert Leadership Training (LT) Program is a two-year leadership development program open to young men and women currently in 10th and 11th grade. Those that are highly motivated, willing to work hard and have a strong desire to develop skills that can be used in camp as well as in their home communities should apply to this program. The LT Experience is divided into Level 1 and Level 2 with each level having its own set of requirements.

At the program’s core is the goal of teaching life skills that translate into preparing young men and women for life outside of camp, i.e., jobs, extracurricular activities, community service work, entrance into college, etc.).
